Start Shoot

Last week I did a quick shoot for some friends.  It was fun to shoot in the snow for the first time, although the shoot was quick (we were done in about 20 min, cause it was COLD) I think I got some good shots!

Here's another photo from mine & Charmaine's trip around the backroads of our area!

One day last week Charmaine & I drove around the outskirts of Sherwood Park looking for locations for shoots.  These are some of the things we found. There are a ton of old, falling down barns, houses and hays sheds like above.  These are all SOOC including the last one which is Charmaine taking a photo of me taking a photo of her!! LOL!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Here's my photos for this week!

 1. In my home, I made shortbread cookies the other day.  There's been a lot of decorating, card making and cookie baking "in my home" the last few days....

 2. It's begining to look a lot like.... CHRISTMAS!!! YAY!!! We put up our tree this weekend.  Nate had to make sure all the ornaments he's made went up!!

 3. Sweet Treat, Nathan eating the icing that came with his gingerbread house kit!!! 

 4. Time.  My watch, the battery died and I took it to a local jewlery store to get a new battery and they couldn't get the back back on!! GRRR!!

5. Everyday, Nathan all tucked in after reading his bedtime story an everyday occurance here!!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

At long last I've gotten it together to post for this week's hunt!!  Here's my photos for this week:

 1. View From Above.  I took this while leaning over the banister on my way upstairs.  Poor Scout, more often than not she's the subject of my photos!!!

 This is another view from above, it's from my archives though.  It's my hubby and son.

 2. Something Hot.  Just a shot of a cup of tea I made myself the other day.  It's been around -23 here which with the wind chill feels like -34!!!!! So needless to say I've been drinking A LOT of hot tea!!!

 3. Something Cold.  This leaf almost looks sad here all wilted and covered with snow!

 4. Electronic.  My precious I-phone.  Don't know what I'd do with out it! You can't tell but it's opened to the notes page where I've entered the items for the hunt!

5. Sparkle.  Just some new christmas decorations I picked up.  Going to try to use some of the tips I learned at Christmas in November last weekend!  Hope it turns out.......

Christmas in November!

Here is a picture of myself with Chef Michael Smith from Food Network.  I was in Jasper (yet again!) this past weekend for Christmas in November at the Jasper Park Lodge.  I was sooo excited to go to this event as well as attend Michael Smith's class not to mention have my picture taken with him and he signed my cookbook!!!  I'm such a food nerd!!! 

Skinny Mini e-course for photoshop!

Soo, excited this week I start TWO photography courses!  The Skinny Mini e-course for photoshop and a Metering course on Monday nights at a continuing education center!!!

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

Here are my photos for this week's challenge!

 1. 5 Senses.  This is a shot I took before movie night here on Friday.  I could "smell" the popcorn in the bowl and also "taste" it's buttery goodness.  I could "see" and "hear" the movie as I watched.  And I could "touch" the blanket my son and I cozied up in to watch the movie.

2. Child/Children

This is yet another shot from Jasper.  Taken last Sunday on our walk around Lake Mildred.  Nathan would stop and read each plaque on each bench along the way.

3. Dining.

Last night my husband and I went out for a delicous Thai dinner at a restaurant in Edmonton with old friends.  This is a shot of a couple dishes! YUMMY!

 4. Night

This was taken litterally on the drive home from the above dinner!  I was hanging out the back window of my hubby's car while we were stoped at a light trying to get this shot of the Alberta Ledgislature!  He told me to stop it, I was starting to be embarassing as our friends were with us in the car!!

5. Sky

This is taken from my deck of the gray and very dreary sky out there today.  I guess winter is on the way now:(

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

 

Here are my photos for my very first Scavenger Hunt Sunday!!!  Hoping I made it in time, we just got back from Jasper a couple hours ago!

 1. Side Lighting.  Just a quick shot I took today!

 2. Jack O'Lantern

I almost thought I'd have to use one from last halloween, but my son has a Jack O'Lantern flashlight that I shined on the wall to get a photo!

3. Faces formed in Nature

Took this on Sunday while we were walking around Lake Mildred in Jasper.  One of our favorite things to do while staying there. This bull Elk was really unconcerned with my snapping pics! He had about 20 cows with him!  

4. Sunset

This was also taken in Jasper.  What can I say it's such a beautiful place.  I was standing in front of the main building at the Jasper Park Lodge when I got this of the sun setting behind the mountains.

5. Warm

This one too is from Jasper!!  It's taken at my personal favorite spot there.  The Emerald Lounge in the Jasper Park Lodge.  I could just sit there forever and read a good book in front of this gigantic (floor to ceiling) fireplace.

Pelletier Shoot

Well, here are the photos I took of an old co-worker and her family! It was a bit of a challange with four kids, but I think I got some good shots!
